Abortion Clinic Procedure FAQ
Can I experience early pregnancy symptoms and still have a miscarriage?
Yes, and an ultrasound can confirm if the pregnancy is not viable. This means it could detect a natural miscarriage before you have signs or bleeding starts. Before you book an abortion appointment, confirm the location and viability of your pregnancy via ultrasound.
What is the process of an abortion? Can I talk to someone locally near me first?
There are two main types of abortion: the abortion pill (medication abortion) and an in-clinic procedure (surgical abortion). Yes, we are happy to talk through the process, what to expect, recovery, and more at your consultation and testing appointment.
Do I need an ultrasound before an abortion? Does that determine the cost or type of an abortion?
An ultrasound confirms how far along the pregnancy is and whether it is located in the uterus. The results can affect which abortion method is available and may impact the overall cost of care. It can also make an abortion unnecessary or rule out a specific type of abortion.
What are the most common side effects? Does it hurt?
Every person's body is different, including how they react to certain drugs. Pain levels can vary from mild to severe. We can discuss your health history, medications, and anything else that may impact you during or after an abortion.
How late can you have an abortion? What are the types?
Contact us directly for more information on current abortion laws, how late an abortion is legal, and your options if you are in your second or third trimester. An aspiration abortion and D&C are the most common types of first-trimester abortions.

We provide care to everyone, regardless of age, gender, income, or immigration status or documentation. All our services are free and confidential. If we are not open now, give us a call, and we will contact you back as soon as possible. You are our priority, and we recognize there are time-sensitive appointment needs.
We provide ultrasounds to estimate how far along you are and assess whether the pregnancy appears to be developing in the uterus. An ultrasound alone cannot rule out an ectopic pregnancy, but can give an indication of the location of the pregnancy.
